KATE MCILROY - OLYMPIC & COMMONWEALTH REP

Kate is an Olympian and three times Commonwealth Games representative. Kate has been a professional runner, triathlete and is currently learning the craft of road cycling and mountain biking.  Having been involved in high performance sport since the age of 17, Kate has a huge amount of experience and knowledge on competing at the highest level but is still keen on new challenges.

Since making the switch from triathlon in 2016, she has been focussed on road cycling, having raced for Australian based team SWR. Her results over the last two years saw her being selected for the 2018 Commonwealth Games road cycling team. Kate finished 2018 on a high, winning The Pioneer - a 6 day mountain bike stage race. During this race Kate  used 24 gels and 2 tubs of electrolyte powder!!!
Kate's next steps are to keep enjoying and progressing her bike racing, with the infamous Mountain Bike race Karapoti next on her schedule, followed by NZ Mountain Bike Nationals in March.
So what are Kate's favourite GU products???  Roctane Energy Gels - "awesome for racing combined with the Roctane electrolyte drink. I have used both of these products for the last few years and believe they make a huge impact on my performance."
